Remove and Install ECM

Tools needed are 7 & 10mm socket/wrench

1 Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2 Remove the dog house.
3 Remove the 3 bolts (10mm) that hold the TCM to brackets.
4 Now swing the TCM out of the way.
5 Loosen the passengers side TCM bracket bolts (10mm).
6 Remove the drivers side TCM bracket bolts (10mm).
This will allow you to move the brackets out of the way later.
7 Loosen the bolt that holds the wiring harness plug into
the ECM using a 7mm socket.
The bolt that holds the wiring harness plug does not come all the
way out. It stays with the plug.
There are rubber seals in the plugs that probably will stick to
the ECM. Just remove them and tuck them back in the plugs.
8 On most motor homes this step can be done from the under the hood, so to speak. Push the ECM retaining clip all the way to the right (driver side). Now release the 2 ECM hold down clips and lift the ECM out.
9 Replace the ECM and reverse the procedure.
